Skewers
One of the easiest healthy snacks to make is skewers (or kebobs). Not only are they book club friendly finger foods, but there are a vast array recipes. A few simple options include:
- Caprese skewers (cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and basil)
- antipasti skewers (cured meats, cheese, olives)
- fruit skewers (raw or grilled!)
However, skewers all your book club host to get creative! If your book is set in a different country, serve up kebabs with flavors of that region. These Seekh Kebobs would be a perfect complement to a book set in Pakistan, while Japan inspires Chicken Yakitori Skewer recipes.
If you're not feeling the cultural inspiration, dessert kebobs are an option too! No shortage of options here either with delicious recipes like Strawberry Shortcake Skewers, Watermelon Feta Blackberry Skewers or these more indulgent Smores' Skewers!
Cowboy Caviar
Amp up your your table with a a burst of colorful and flavorful cowboy caviar! This dish is super simple and has many uses as both a dip and a topping. Set out a bowl alongside or in place of basic salsa. Or use as a topping on grilled meats, eggs or even on a burger.
Consisting of corn, beans, tomatoes, onion and peppers, it's hard to go wrong when whipping up a batch of Cowboy Caviar.
Pro tip: Make the night ahead to allow the flavors to meld together.

Sweet Potato Bites
I used to hate sweet potatoes, but oh how recent years have impacted my palate. Sweet potatoes are a nutrient dense option that have more uses than you'd imagine. For instance, you could whip up a sweet potato bite with marshmallow topping and pecans. OR why not try these fantastic tasting sweet potato guacamole bites! Who you have thought to pair these two foods? The result is yet again another colorful bite your book clubbers will love.

Mini Zucchini Pizzas
Everyone love pizza, but alas it is not the healthiest of foods. But we have a solution! Swap out the crust for a nutritious slice of zucchini! Zucchini has a mild taste, allowing it to showcase the ingredients you want to top your mini zuchizzas with. Now if you love pizza for the fluffy or crunchy or buttery crust, then this healthy snack probably won't fulfill your craving. However, we argue these provide their own delicious taste you can appreciate.

Deviled Eggs
This is an oldie but a goodie. Deviled eggs are always a fan favorite. Packed with protein and a serving of some healthy fats, this snack goes a long way toward satiety. They are also great if you have any Keto diet practitioners in your book club. Fairly simple to make, all you need is hard boiled eggs, some mayo and a dash of paprika.
If you plan to make this yummy treats regularly, we recommend a piping tool like the Joie Deviled Egg Maker (affiliate link). This device saves you time and helps you pipe your filling perfectly.

No Bake Cranberry Orange Cookies
These little delicacies are recent discovery! Thanks to my husband, I've expanded my dessert horizons away from just chocolate. More and more I'm sampling and like berry or fruit infused baked goodies. The name of this cookie sold me on it. As a bonus, the sweetness is all from natural sources AND the recipe calls for a scoop of protein powder. A protein dense cookie I can eat for breakfast? Yes please!
These cookies would be an excellent option to serve at a brunch or afternoon tea book club.

Chocolate Avocado Truffles or Mousse
If you've never tried avocado and chocolate get ready to rock your socks off! Seriously, even for those who purport they hate avocado (I used to be one of those poor fools), these desserts will fool even the most ardent avocado detractors. The intensity of the cocoa powder overshadows the flavor avocado while taking advantage of it's creamy texture for a perfectly rich, decadent bite. Another very easy dessert to make, you can prepare these in advance and even freeze leftovers!
